“Snow Bed” – A River Runs Underneath It…

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ~ Isaiah 43:19

In February, on one of my walks, I took the picture above.

When I first saw the snow-bed, I said “hmmm…what a beautiful sight…” I actually felt like lying down there for a few seconds – NUT!😁

Weeell, I thought about it at least…However, in the end, I just took a picture and kept walking.

You see, underneath the snow in the picture lies a beautiful river.  We cannot see it now, but it is there.  It will only become visible when the snow starts to melt.

This is when we may think “oh wow, what a beautiful river!”

But the river was beautiful all along.  It’s just that the river was covered with snow.

What I am trying to convey is that, whether it was the snow-covered river or the river that is snow-free – It did not change the fact that there is a “beautiful river” underneath.

You see, when it comes to the harsh times, it is sometimes difficult for the person going through it to believe that God is still present at those times.

However, I can comfortably speak to the mercy and grace of God in trying times. Why?  Because, I have gone through it and still am.  So, I know that though the picture above may look like a wilderness, underneath all that snow lies “streams of joy”.

In my last post (click here…), I wrote about fighting some battles spiritually.  Again, I realize that for more than a year, many of us may have been in “the wilderness state”.

We have been anticipating when things will get better.  We want to be mask-free.  We want to visit family and friends without being so cautious.  Ultimately, we simply just want to get back to our “normal” lives!

We know that this time will come.  However, it is the how and when that is usually the frustrating part for many of us.

Again, looking at the picture, I am reminded that the harsh winter will not last forever.  I am reminded that our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  I am reminded that He (God) never changes.  I am reminded of His promises and faithfulness towards us.

And so, when He says He is doing a new thing – I believe Him!…

Happy New Month!

Be well…

The best is yet to come…

The Weapon Against Covid…

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” ~ Ephesians 6:12

A year ago, the whole world was spinning out of control with a new pandemic. Today we are still not sure when it will all end.  There were (and still are) lots of reports circulating in the media.  Life changed for many of us as we endured and persevered through this “new normal”.

The picture above is of all the “weapon” I used (and still use) during this pandemic season.

What I do know from this period is that the battle is not over.  Not just the pandemic, I am also referring to our everyday battle.  As humans placed here on earth and as long as we are still breathing in air – we will encounter one battle or another.  Some we are not even aware of because we have a Heavenly Father who is constantly protecting us.

Over the years, I have come to realize that some of battles cannot be fought with physical weapons. Why? Because they are not physical battles. So they have to be fought spiritually!

So, how does one do that?

Know God’s Word, pray often, be on guard, but do not live in fear.  The devil does not sleep even when we are sleeping.  He is always scheming!

BUT PRAISE BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY who promises that – “No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” ~ 1 Corinthians 10:13

So while you may be fighting those around you thinking that they are the cause of your never-ending trials.  Don’t forget to get on your knees first and often.  This is by far the best weapon you need.  It has worked and continues to work for me.

Awesome God!…

Holy are you Lord
All creation call you God
Worthy is your name
We worship Your Majesty

Awesome God, how great thou art
You are God, mighty are Your miracles
We stand in awe of your holy name
Lord we bow and worship You….
